GoAtjeh.com, Banda Aceh – The Governor of Aceh inaugurated the inaugural flight of the Super Air Jet Airline for the new route Super Air Jet Initial Flight Routes Banda Aceh-Kualanamu and Banda Aceh-Kuala Lumpur.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the VIP room of SIM Airport, Blang Bintang, Aceh Besar, Saturday (3/8/2024). The Acting Governor of Aceh, Bustami Hamzah, was represented by the Head of the Aceh Transportation Agency, T. Faisal.
The Head of the Aceh Transportation Agency, T. Faisal, in his remarks on behalf of the Governor of Aceh, said that the addition of this new flight route was good news for the people of Aceh, because it expanded flight access to and from Aceh. “This shows a positive development in the aviation business in Aceh, even though Super Air Jet is a new player in this region,” Faisal said, as quoted by GoAtjeh.com.
This new route is expected to not only increase tourism visits to Aceh but also support the organization of the XXI National Sports Week (PON) in the Aceh region which will be held soon.
Super Air Jet’s Director of Safety and Quality, Ongky Rinaldi, revealed that the addition of this route reflects Super Air Jet’s commitment to providing affordable, safe and comfortable flight services to the people of Aceh.
Ongky reported that the inaugural flight from Kualanamu to Banda Aceh was filled with 103 passengers, while the flight from Banda Aceh to Kuala Lumpur reached 104 passengers from a total of 180 available seats. “We are optimistic that occupancy will increase to 80 percent on the next flight,” he added.
Ongky hopes this new route can strengthen connectivity between Aceh and Kuala Lumpur and support economic, tourism and community activities in Aceh.
He also thanked the Aceh Government, airport authorities, and all parties who have supported the implementation of this inaugural flight.
The event was also attended by Kadisops Lanud SIM Lt Col April Brahmana, Regent of Aceh Besar, Muhammad Iswanto, Chairman of TP-PKK Aceh Besar Cut Rezky Handayani SIP MM, Pgs EGM Angkasa Pura II Andika Kusdwiyanka, Head of Airport Authority, Head of Class I Meteorological Station, as well as Angkasa Pura II officials and Super Air Jet staff.[]
