GoAtjeh.com, Subulussalam – Governor Aceh Bustami Hamzah officially opened the Aceh Entrepreneur Expo 2024 event at Sada Kata Field, Subulussalam City, Friday (02/08/2024) night.
The expo aims to promote selected Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) products from Aceh to the wider community. The opening ceremony was lively where thousands of people and UMKM players filled Sada Kata Field.
Bustami in his speech stated that the UMKM expo is an annual agenda held by the Aceh Cooperative and UMKM Office. “We hope that this activity can not only expand the marketing of Aceh UMKM products, but also encourage the production of Aceh UMKM to compete at the global level. Last but not least, this event is expected to inspire Acehnese youths to be active in entrepreneurial activities,” Bustami said.
Bustami said that the Aceh government will continue to pay attention to the UMKM sector given its significant support for the Aceh economy. The UMKM sector is said to have proven to be able to withstand various pressures of economic situations in Indonesia, including when Covid-19 hit the country.
Furthermore, Bustami encouraged the community, especially Aceh’s young generation, to utilize the various potentials in their area. He underlined the importance of creativity and innovation in generating UMKM business ideas that can develop and compete in local and global markets.
Bustami also stated that activities such as this Aceh Entrepreneur Expo are the right platform for aspiring young entrepreneurs to learn, exchange experiences, and find inspiration. He hopes that the spirit of entrepreneurship will continue to grow and flourish among Aceh’s young generation, making them the driving force of the regional economy.
Aceh Entrepreneur Expo 2024 also featured a talk show for Acehnese entrepreneurs and UMKM activists. In the discussion, various challenges and opportunities were discussed to encourage Aceh’s UMKM to compete at the national and global levels. The festival runs for two days until Sunday night, August 4, 2024.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Subulussalam, Azhari, expressed his gratitude for the presence of the Governor of Aceh, Bustami, who opened the Aceh Entrepreneur Expo 2024. Azhari expressed his hope that this provincial-level event could raise the spirit of UMKM players in Subulussalam City. “We are very grateful for the presence of the Governor to open this expo. Hopefully the UMKM players here will be more encouraged to become more advanced,” said Azhari.
Azhari also hoped that Aceh Entrepreneur Expo 2024 could be an important momentum for UMKM in Subulussalam to increase their capacity and competitiveness, both at the local and national levels.
Also present at the event were the Deputy Chairperson of the Aceh Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK) Mellani Subarni who is also the wife of the Deputy Governor of Aceh, elements of the Subulussalam Forkopimda, Deputy Regent of South Aceh, Deputy Regent of Aceh Singkil, Deputy Regent of Aceh Jaya, and a number of Heads of the relevant Aceh Government Work Units (SKPA).
