GoAtjeh, Banda Aceh – Baitul Mal Aceh (BMA) and Zainoel Abidin General Hospital (RSUZA) officially established cooperation to provide prosthetic limbs for the poor in Aceh.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was carried out in the Multaman I Hall of RSUZA Banda Aceh, with the aim of strengthening synergy in meeting the needs of this health aid.
Head of Baitul Mal Aceh Secretariat, Amirullah, who signed the agreement, said the cooperation was expected to increase collaboration between BMA and RSUZA in providing prosthetic limbs for underprivileged families in Aceh.
Amirullah added that BMA is allocating zakat for 100 mustahik candidates to receive prosthetic limbs by 2024. This effort is part of BMA’s strategy to reduce poverty through the provision of essential health aids.
RSUZA President Director, Dr. Isra Firmansyah, Sp.A, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to BMA for this collaboration. “This collaboration is an important step for RSUZA services. With BMA’s support, we can provide prosthetic limbs to those in need, helping them to improve their lives and reduce poverty in Aceh,” he said.
Dr. Isra also revealed that the need for prosthetic limbs in Aceh is very high, reaching 30 to 50 units per year, with a waiting list of 100 patients. Since BPJS does not cover the entire cost of prosthetic limbs, many poor people have not been served.
“We hope that this cooperation will have a positive impact in alleviating poverty and improving the welfare of the people of Aceh,” added Dr. Isra.
With the signing of this PKS, BMA and RSUZA are committed to continuing to contribute to improving public health through professional and trustworthy zakat management.
