East Lampung | Member of the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia from the Golkar Party faction Hanan A Rozak said he would fully support the use of agricultural machinery to increase agricultural production.
“Agriculture will receive special attention, I support the use of agricultural machinery and the latest technology to support the success and welfare of farmers,” said Hanan in Batanghari District, East Lampung Regency, on Saturday (03/08/2024).
This was conveyed by Hanan A Rozak when handing over hundreds of electric spray tanks to farmer groups in the Districts of Batanghari, Sekampung and Metro Kibang, East Lampung Regency.
Hanan A Rozak said that this assistance was his commitment to support the modernization and welfare of farmers in Lampung Province.
According to Hanan, although Indonesia is an agricultural country, it still imports to meet domestic food needs. Therefore, the production of agricultural products must be increased. However, she hopes that the increase in production will be accompanied by an increase in farmers’ income and welfare.
“I am in favor of the interests of farmers, the current problem is related to the income and welfare of farmers,” he continued.
Another challenge in agriculture is to attract the young generation or millennials to become farmers.
“How to make agriculture attractive to the younger generation, the key is to modernize agriculture from planting to harvesting”.
On that occasion, one of the farmer group representatives, Philin Sugianto, expressed his hope that Member of the House of Representatives Hanan A Rozak would fight for the budget for agricultural machinery and infrastructure assistance to be increased.
“We feel the benefits of government assistance in agriculture, through the facilitation of Mr. Hanan A Rozak’s aspirations, it is very helpful, we hope that in the following year the amount can be increased,” said Philin.
Hanan said that in 2024 he facilitated the assistance of electric spray tanks, combine harvesting machines, tractors, water pumps, irrigation rehabilitation, farming roads, bentor, agricultural product dryers and seeds.[]
